Open Letter to Customers

The acquisition of Press-sense assets is an exciting point in the history of Bitstream. I want to welcome the Press-sense employees, customers, partners, and distributors to Bitstream.
By adding an office in Israel, in addition to our existing offices in the United States and India, Bitstream can truly support our customers and partners in every time zone. The technical talent in Israel for graphic arts technology and mobile communications is exceptional and we are excited to be adding a team there.
This acquisition also is historic for our publishing segment. The Press-sense technologies and software products will become an integral part of our Pageflex product line. Starting today, Bitstream is the one company that people can turn to when they need to automate and better manage every aspect of their document production workflow from content creation and document customization to ordering, production, and back office data tracking.
While initially we will develop, sell, and support the Pageflex and iWay products separately, we do intend to capitalize on opportunities for integrations among our now-expanded product suite. Our ultimate goal is to develop the industry’s most robust workflow automation product so that it is our collective customers who ultimately benefit the most from this acquisition.
We appreciate the enthusiasm and support that we have already received from Press-sense’s OEM partners. We look forward to enhancing these relationships and working together to bring world-class workflow solutions to their digital print customers worldwide.
We know that the recent months have been anxious ones for Press-sense customers as you awaited word of what would happen with Press-sense. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to support you and work with you during this transition. We look forward to hearing your feedback on how we can further develop our software to meet your needs. There are many things we have not had time to address yet. We ask for your patience as we work through the details and integrate our teams.
Among other strengths, Pageflex is known for its knowledgeable, friendly support team and powerful, published APIs and SDKs that enable and simplify the process of extending our products and integrating them with third-party systems. We fully intend to invest necessary resources to bring these two qualities to our new iWay products. To that end we will retain nearly all of the current Press-sense employees. They know the technology intimately, they know you well, and they know your concerns and needs. Our initial focus will be on stabilizing the iWay product, addressing immediate functionality issues (those pesky bugs), and actively supporting those of you who are on current support contracts.
