Bitstream Releases BREW-Compatible Versions of its ThunderHawk Mobile Browser and Font Rendering Plug-ins

ThunderHawk, Font Fusion® and Panorama® Now Available For All Qualcomm BREW® Enabled Mobile Devices

(NASDAQ: BITS) a software development company with core competencies in browsing, font and publishing technologies, announced today that it will be making its ThunderHawk mobile browser and Font Fusion® and Panorama®font rendering plug-ins available to BREW carriers, device manufacturers, and developers. ThunderHawk, the fastest mobile browser on the market today, will now be available on the hundreds of mobile devices that run on the BREW platform. The Font Fusion and Panorama plug-ins will now enable BREW devices to efficiently and quickly display the highest quality text available in any global marketplace. ThunderHawk, Font Fusion, and Panorama for BREW will be demonstrated at Bitstream booth 308 at the BREW 2008 Conference, May 28-30, San Diego, CA.

• State-of-the-art global text composition
• Small footprint - only 80-140k of RAM is required
• Range-based font mapping for fonts based on Unicode ranges
• Font linking – supports font substitution (even at run time)
• Style-based font mapping intelligently picks an existing stylized font or applies the algorithmic style. When two font variants, regular and italic for example, are installed, a user selects italic and that font is picked. But if the italic font is not installed, Panorama enables the regular font to be made to italic algorithmically
• 32-bit Unicode support
• Support for enhanced text view and editing with:
• SpaceWrap wraps any spaces that are before a character in a new line
• Termination style support enables the OEM to have an ellipses kind of termination style using Panorama. This new feature allows the OEM to terminate the string with some characters if the string is not getting fit inside an area
