Pageflex Principal Software Engineer

Join our top-notch team developing the sophisticated industry-leading award-winning Pageflex product suite, used by our diverse customer base to deploy attractive Web-to-print sites, allowing their users to customize and print everything from business cards to travel brochures to personalized college catalogs. Work in multiple technologies across the product line, including the Pageflex Storefront customizable e-commerce web site (ASP.NET and C#) where users pick a full-color template, modify it directly, and place print orders; the Pageflex Campaign Manager web application where users run cross media marketing campaigns; the document customization server (C# and C++) which composes output dynamically on a server farm; and Studio (C++ and C#), a full WYSIWYG desktop layout and design tool.

As a Principal Software Engineer you will work closely with Engineering, Product Design, QA, Support, and Documentation colleagues and contribute to all phases of the software development cycle. To be considered for this position, you should have a proven track record of shipping large and complex client/server and web-driven applications. You should have experience with modern environments such as C#.NET as well as traditional C++. You must be self-motivated, display excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Candidate’s Required Background

  • 7+ years experience developing complex desktop, client/server and Web applications running on Microsoft Windows
  • Excellent knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, and solid experience with C++
  • Ability to work in a multi-programming language environment (our products make use of C/C++, C#, Java, ASP.NET, COM, and various scripting languages)
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008
  • Experience in researching, authoring, and presenting software specifications
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server operating systems, including networking, databases and client-server enterprise system issues
  • Ability to ship products on schedule
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Highly Desired Skills and Knowledge

  • Experience with graphic arts applications in typography, page layout, color and image management, print workflows, and various forms of print output production involving PostScript and PDF workflows
  • Experience HTML and JavaScript
  • Experience with IIS, Web server and proxy configurations, TCP/IP, XML, firewalls and security
  • Proficiency with scripting languages, such as VBScript, JavaScript, and Perl
